This Country
This country is the land
Where I was born,
The place that I call home.
Where others did roam,
In days long ago,
A Maple leaf on a flag adorns.
This country is a place
If our hearts;
Memories of a past
In our minds last.
When we're afar even then,
We feel still a part.
This country is a place
Where many have grown;
Of still and deep waters,
Where sons and daughters
Know a peace that others
May never have known.
