Scene Around Town: New Holocaust Memorial
On April 29, 2003, the date of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), a sculpture by Edmonton artist Susan Kagan was
unveiled on the Legisplature grounds. The sculpture is in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. At the cermony,
Holocaust survivors lit candles, members of Edmonton's Jewish community read poetry and stories, and
several dignitaries, including Premier Ralph Klein and Lieutenant Governor Lois Hole, made moving speeches. Here is a
look at the ceremony.
