Why should someone live in Edmonton? Or even visit? I could go on at length about the perfect size of the city -- big enough to host major sporting events and small enough to ride your bicycle from one end to the other. Or the people -- just the right mix of artists, athletes, and intellectuals. There is the shopping -- and believe me, it's not just West Edmonton Mall!
For me, life in Edmonton is special because of the arts scene. There is always a festival or two going on, and many attractions to visit. But not everyone is into the lively music, theatre, and concerts that go on here. Perhaps you prefer sports or the many educational opportunities that exist here. If you are new to the city you will be interested in learning more about the civic government and buying a home or even finding a job. I will be the first to admit that the weather often leaves a lot to be desired. But if you like outdoor activities that include snow, you won't be disappointed.
