The Best of the Buskers
The Edmonton International Street Performers Festival makes the downtown area come alive with
clowns, jugglers, musicians and mimes from around the world. Most of the performances are free and
take place at Winston Churchill Square. Of course, spectators often give a loonie or toonie
when the performer passes his or her hat around after the show.
Most of the shows are about fifteen minutes in length and are family-oriented. There is a special
children's section set up for younger kids, with games, performances and crafts.
This festival of buskers is one of Edmonton's best-loved summer events, because of the
diversity of performers, location and general fun atmosphere. It always takes place during the first two weeks of July,
so be sure not to miss it!
